The Kitchen Croxley

The Kitchen was established in November 2014 when Filled With Love Cupcakes outgrew our family home. We took over the Blockbuster Video Store opposite Croxley Metropolitan Line Station and made a few changes!

Our premises consist of a working kitchen, a cake studio, office and storage space. We also have a large front of house area perfect for parties, and ideal for relaxing in with a cuppa and slice of cake.

We are a family run business and customer satisfaction is our number one priority. We use good quality ingredients, fairly traded wherever possible. We believe our products taste every bit as good as they look and aim to offer the best possible value.

If you are looking for gluten or dairy free cakes, egg-free cakes or a particular recipe we will try to help. We specialise in celebration and bespoke cakes for all occasions and would love to bake for you.

Apsley Paper Trail

In 1803 the world’s first commercial papermaking machine was installed and operated at Frogmore Paper Mill. Thus began paper’s industrial revolution, paving the way for the world we know today-mass communication, universal education and worldwide knowledge.

Over 200 years later and still making paper, Frogmore Paper Mill is now operated by the Apsley Paper Trail, a charitable trust. The trust exists to keep the site open for public visits, to conserve the unique history it represents and the industrial heritage it contains. General Public (without appointment) are invited to the Paper Mill on Thursdays and 1st Sunday of the month – Guided Tours at 11.00, 13.00 & 14.45. For group, advanced, school bookings and general enquiries call 01442 234600.

Made in Dagenham

Rickmansworth Players will be offering £2 off tickets purchased at Croxfest, for their upcoming show ‘Made in Dagenham’ to be performed at Watersmeet from 22 – 25 November.

Made in Dagenham is drawn from the real-life 1968 sewing machinists strike at the Ford’s Dagenham car plant. Rita O’Grady encourages the women to walk out after they are re-classified as unskilled workers, while their male counterparts see their wages increase.

Inspired by a true story, Made in Dagenham is a distinctively British, uplifting musical comedy about friendship, love and the importance of fighting for what is right.

Spamalot

Cassio Productions will be promoting their upcoming production of Spamalot at Watford Palace Theatre in November. Lovingly ripped off from the hugely successful 1975 film, ‘Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail’, Spamalot follows King Arthur, his squire Patsy and the Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their epic search for the Holy Grail. Featuring killer rabbits, flatulent Frenchmen and The
Knights who say… Ni!, this musical will have you looking on the bright side of life!

Discounted ticket offers for this show at Watford Palace Theatre will be available exclusively from our Croxfest stall, as well as a chance to win free tickets.

Home-Start

Home-Start Watford and Three Rivers support local children and families through stressful times in their lives. The family will have at least one child under five but often have more. Being a parent, whatever your situation, can be very challenging, especially when children are young. Many parents feel exhausted and overwhelmed by the stresses of family life. For some parents it’s a particular struggle because they are also coping with issues such as post-natal depression, their or their child’s illness or disability, isolation or multiple births. That’s when parents need support.

A trained volunteer visits the family for a few hours once a week for up to nine months. Home- Start Watford and Three Rivers also provide school readiness workshops and a counselling service for parents. We are excited to be part of Croxfest this year and will be making rain sticks and other crafts. We will also be selling some festival accessories!
