September 12, 2013 5:00 pmWow. My second year to visit and what a day. A big group of us went and small children right through to the adults enjoyed themselves. Great day had by all, and brought everyone together , everyone friendly and a great atmosphere all round. Wish it could go on longer !!! Only thing needed was more toilets as the queue at the end was rather long. Thank you for everyone’s effort for this memorable day !!!!!!

September 11, 2013 5:16 pmWhat a fantastic afternoon, such a well run great local family event, huge thanks to all of the volunteers who made it happen.

September 10, 2013 9:31 pmThis was my second Croxfest (first to play at!) and I’m always impressed at how well the day is run, from a performers and an audience members perspective.
The mix of covers and originals always works well, always good to showcase new talent, and I feel that this year there was something for everyone.
We had a blast, it was well run, no trouble, everyone I spoke to was polite and helpful and as Dave said below, the turnaround onstage was brilliant, I’ve never been so relaxed setting my gear up at a festival!
The event organisers, volunteers and everyone involved should be very pleased with how the event went, everyone I have spoken to has said how well the event was run and how much of a good time they had.
On behalf of the other guys in DeLorean and myself, we would just like to say a huge huge thank you to everyone that came along, we hope it was as awesome for you guys as it was for us!
In short, excellent. Long may Croxfest continue!
Craig
September 10, 2013 3:57 pmWhat a great event for people from all ages , organisation fab! Well done to Honor Sunday, the under 14 year old band that opened the event!
Cindy
September 10, 2013 11:16 amHuge thanks to all the Croxfest team, the whole support staff backstage were brilliant (including t-shirted security hound) everyone could not have been more helpful, professional or friendlier! For a festival stage I have to say the timings, load in and out and general stage handling were exceptional, especilly given my very silly kit having to get on stage in double quick time, and the sound was excellent given the very limited timeframe, can safely say that me and all the DeLorean lads loved every second of it!

September 9, 2013 10:28 pmThank you for the opportunity to enjoy quality live music in such a perfect setting.
I hope it inspires more people to get out and go to open mic nights/gigs and support their local music scene. Looking forward to next year!

September 9, 2013 9:53 pmFabulous day! Didn’t want it to end! Huge thanks to all involved, can’t wait for next year 🙂

September 9, 2013 9:12 pmVery good excellent event. Brilliant community event, nice mix of music . A great way of bringing people together. Very well organised. Extremely professionally done. Could have done with better instructions on how to get there by bus rather than just a link to arriva website. A simple concept done very well.
Robert
September 9, 2013 8:11 pmThank you to all the organisers and helpers for providing this fantastic event. Looking forward to Croxfest 2014!

September 9, 2013 8:11 pmWhat a great local event! Well organised, staff and public very friendly. Great inspiration to my son who want to be on the Croxfest stage when he is older!
Looking forward to Croxfest 2014.

September 9, 2013 7:43 pmGreat time at the festival.well organised and a lovely atmosphere.the best event now held on the green.it makes a nice change to have something a bit different in croxley.i think that cars should be charged for parking on the green this would encourage more people to walk and also raise some money towards the festival.i don’t like the idea of having beer tents at the festival.i would imagine the pubs do pretty well anyway.big stu was great on the day and his time to compare revels can’t be far away.
Matt
September 9, 2013 6:37 pmAnother fantastic festival and fantastic bands this year! Well done to all the organisers as they put their time and their effort in! Can’t wait for next year! Roll on croxfest 2014!
Thanks from Amanda x

September 9, 2013 3:00 pmGreat day as always, so much fun, fantastic acts and great community spirit bringing the whole of Croxley-young and old together. Looking forward to next years already!
Emma
September 9, 2013 2:15 pmThe wife has already left her feedback/essay(!), however I just wanted to add a note to say thanks to everyone who worked hard to make Croxfest such an awesome day.
Big thanks to all the bands – and Delorean if you guys are reading these comments you’ve earned a couple of life-long fans here – best band I’ve ever seen, Big Stu below put it perfectly!
I’m a bit split on the idea of a beer tent – based on the responsible behaviour we’ve seen by Croxfest visitors over the last couple of years, I do think it’s a good idea but ONLY if it’s run by the local pubs so that the money goes back into community businesses. I also totally agree with the suggestions of having music during the breaks in between bands, it would really help to keep the atmosphere flowing.
Thoroughly enjoyed the event! Here’s my vote for Delorean as the last band next year as well lol
Richard
September 9, 2013 1:21 pmWhat a fantastic day! Thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time up to make this event so amazing and so that the rest of us could have such a brilliant time. The bands were great and even the weather behaved for Croxfest! What a wonderful place to live! I don’t think the event needs a beer tent – so much nicer (and cheaper!) to bring your own.
Mandy
September 9, 2013 1:17 pmWe come to Croxfest every year, and always have a fabulous time. Thank you so much to the volunteers for all your hard work. It’s a great family day out, we can bring the kids who have a great day dancing and playing, bring a picnic and have a drink (that we haven’t paid through the nose for) all in our own little village – how lucky are we?! I have family and friends who travel from the other side of London to join in. Long Live Croxfest!
Sarah
September 9, 2013 12:49 pmreading these comments i am wondering if next year there should maybe be some more food available ?? perhaps some local shops/cafe etc selling cakes ? snacks ? or picnics?? i would be happy to help !
judy
September 9, 2013 12:37 pmWhat a blinding day it was ,can’t wait till next year
david
September 9, 2013 12:28 pmHave been reading the comments on here (having left one on Sunday) about the possibility of a beer tent. Have been to 3 festivals in Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring in the last year or so, where you weren’t allowed to take your own drink in. Afterwards there was no positive feedback at all, just complaints about the amount of time you had to queue for a drink and how the bars ran out quickly! I say bring your own, much nicer!
Miki
September 9, 2013 12:21 pmAfter 12 months of planning, a hectic weekend, and a clear up on Sunday morning, the whole CroxFest team are thrilled with your overall feedback! As a resident and seasoned festival goer, i feel honoured and proud to be part of CroxFest. Considering EVERYONE volunteers their free time to share their love of music and all things Croxley, i’m sure our de-brief meeting will be nothing short of exciting. If CroxFest 2014 happens we’ll be begging for more help and volunteers! I thought the band selection committee did an admirable job. Being an old Rocker at heart i thought DeLorean were, quite possibly, one of the best rock bands I’ve seen outside of a stadium event.
Keep your comments coming please. The more feedback we get both positive or negative will help any future CroxFest’s as well as strengthen the case to make CroxFest an annual event for the foreseeable future.
Don’t forget that even though CroxFest is run by volunteers, it would be nothing without the most fantastic crowd that you were this year!
Big Stu - CroxFest MC
September 9, 2013 12:09 pmExcellent excellent excellent day!! We’re HUGE live music fans and thought all the music was great – agree about adding some background tunes in-between the bands while they are setting up – perhaps a few tracks in keeping the style of the band that’s about to take to the stage, just to set the vibe?
Delorean were simply outstanding, never seen them before but we all agreed they are by far best rock band we’ve seen outside of a stadium (and we see a LOT of bands)!! Perfect choice for a big finale to end the day!! Can they be contacted for party bookings?
We’ve been avid Croxfest supporters for the previous 2 years and have seen the event go from strength to strength. Can’t wait to see how you top it next year! The community spirit shown was really heartwarming. The fact you managed to get so many volunteers just goes to show what the event means to people.
A beer tent or 2 would be great – perhaps stocked and staffed by the local publicans so that they don’t lose out on trade? People were bringing their own in and were still very well behaved, so I can’t see it being a problem in terms of drunken louts wandering around. It would just help add to the festival atmosphere and prevent folk from having to leave the area to get a fresh drink. Perhaps a couple of extra toilets as well wouldn’t go amiss. We didn’t have a problem with parking, but we got there early-ish.
I know a few people commented about there being too many rock bands, however I don’t think that was the problem. The issue was that there were too many similar bands back-to-back. Personally for me, as a live music supporter I love listening to both original material and cover songs. However I think for a festival such as this maybe there were a few too many original artists. I overheard heard a lot of people commenting that they wanted to be able to sing along to something but that they couldn’t. Wasn’t a problem for us though, we loved it all!
Hubby will be writing his own feedback later as he’s still raving about the day! As stated previously by others, this was probably the highlight of our summer!
Jane
September 9, 2013 11:01 amA well organised family afternoon out utilising the Green for what it’s intended for – use by the community.
Will be there for next years too.
Martin.
September 9, 2013 9:36 amFantastic event and a really enjoyable day. As someone’s who’s been involved in organising large community events in the past I know only too well how much effort is required and everyone involved with Croxfest should take huge credit for both the efforts in the background and the hugely successful nature of the day itself.
Events like this are a key element in bringing communities together – look at the thousands of people mingling, dancing, chatting, laughing etc together on Saturday. That’s interaction that you can’t force but you can facilitate and that’s exactly the part Croxfest plays in the community.
In a country that’s often referred to as Broken Britain – sometimes/often with good reason – events like Croxfest offer hope that there’s still a sense of community. More of the same next year please – given the obvious dedication in the team behind the event it can only go from strength to strength.

September 9, 2013 8:03 amAnother fab event fab music family atmosphere even better with a veggie safe burger van!!!!

September 8, 2013 11:55 pmThis was my first Croxfest and it won’t be my last . It was a really well organised and fun event that suited all ages. I brought my 3 young children and they loved it.
A brilliant family event, thanks for organising it.
Sharon
September 8, 2013 11:54 pmGreat lineup, quality backstage team and of course a brilliant turnout from the local community! I would agree with some other comments on here that music between the acts would have been nice, but other than that the day was spot on, and was a pleasure to attend both as a performer and a spectator.
I’d prepare for even more parking next year, as I can only see this event getting bigger and better… bring on Croxfest 2014!
Adi - The Nameless Three
September 8, 2013 11:12 pmBest day of my summer! Thank you to everyone who was involved in the day! Personal favourite moment was the Delorean band at the end of the evening – wow what a band – and what a frontman!
Sara
September 8, 2013 11:00 pmAnother great day – how about some fireworks at the end?
Rebecca
September 8, 2013 11:00 pmI love my rock music but seems like quite a few people would like a bit more variety, maybe look for some funk/soul bands next year? A bit different and would still get people up and dancing!
Tom
September 8, 2013 10:36 pmCroxfest was great another year delorian best cover band ever well done for organising another great day out thankyou
Anthony and karen
September 8, 2013 10:05 pmOur first time and we were very glad we came! Kids loved it and even with the sprinkle of rain it was a great event. Toilets clean and all volunteers were lovely and friendly. Only grumble is the amount of rock bands. Found it too heavy at times and kids weren’t interested in having a nice dance! The Thai stall was fab and reasonably priced. The Italian stall was very overpriced (£6 for pasta) and one lady who worked on it was very rude when we asked for fresh Parmesan cheese! We will definitely be back next year!
Jo
September 8, 2013 9:02 pmI attended this years Croxfest from beginning to end and I had a fantastic day. The atmosphere was very friendly and every single band that played at the event was electric. This event would deferentially be the highlight of my summer.
The only bad thing that I found was some of the food that was on sale at the event I found was a bit pricey.
Paul
September 8, 2013 8:18 pmHad a fantastic day out, something for everyone from my elderly mother to my teenage son and youngest girl. Really well organised and efficient. The choice of stalls and eclectic live music as well as helpful staff made this our highlight of the summer and I urge the organisers to continue in 2014 and beyond!
Bella
September 8, 2013 7:58 pmIt was great being a volunteer and meeting so many lovely people 🙂 .. I hope im allowed to volunteer next year as its a lovely event. The atmosphere was friendly and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. Thanks Steve for looking out for me!

September 8, 2013 3:46 pmWell done to all involved putting Croxfest together. What a fantastic day. Great opportunity to meet up with people, sit around and enjoy the music from Artists we wont usually get an opportunity to see. Looking forward to next years event.
Caroline
September 8, 2013 2:23 pmmy family and I absolutely love Croxfest. We are so lucky to have the opportunity of taking our children to a really lovely Event. We danced our socks off. Hope to see it again in 2014!!
Maria
September 8, 2013 2:20 pmMy 1st Croxfest but definitely not my last!! It was absolutely great, very well organised, lovely to see all ages come together. The bands were fantastic. A BIG well done to all that helped put this event together & I hope it will continue over the coming years.
The only problem I saw was the amount of inconsiderate car owners parking on our pavements making it difficult to pass when walking & if you happen to have a wheel chair then you would have no hope of passing. Such a shame.
I totally brilliant day & thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Jackie
September 8, 2013 1:52 pmGreat day with all may family and friends
jimbo
September 8, 2013 1:46 pmWhat a great day once again. This event gets better each year. Pleased there is no beer tent as it means families stay together and there is no anti-social behaviour. Bought drinks up from local supermarket and from pub, so money going into local business rather than a commercial firm ripping me off for a pint of indifferent beer/lager.
Toilets were the best I’ve ever seen at a festival. Thanks. Well done to all involved and sponsors. Croxley community spirit is alive and well. Revels, Croxfest, Fireworks at midnight on New Years Eve, Croxley Mummers, Fairs and car shows on The Green. Get involved with these events and with the great teams of volunteers behind them. It’s your Community so come along and help it grow. Rock and Roll towards 2014.
Croxley Comet
September 8, 2013 1:42 pmHad a great day, better than expected, good to see a big crowd, being in one of the bands . Wish to play there next year too. Best day in a long time. Thanks croxfest!
Josh
September 8, 2013 1:03 pmGreat day, agree with the below comments on having a bar (beer tent) and something on in between the bands.
Ben
September 8, 2013 12:55 pmBig thanks to all involved once again for a great day! As a band member I thought the sound men did a great job as did the tech crew in setting up the stage. It was good to see a range of acts (pop, folk, rock and indie) – a lot of people have said there need to be less rocky acts – perhaps it may be better to mix the order of the bands however so there aren’t three rock bands in a row? Great to see local youth given a chance as well (MAZE, Spitfires, Chasing Grace and Honour Sunday). Bring on next year’s event!
Tim
September 8, 2013 12:53 pmBrilliant day , our third one and invited friends and family from far afield.Everyone had a great time.
Thank you to all the volunteers , it means everything to the community
Is there anyway at all to sell/ supply alcohol on the green , even if it was the 3 pubs selling their wares
Neill
September 8, 2013 12:41 pmReally well organised again, the music was really good this year as was the mix ( well done the sound men!) and as always it was great to see everybody of all ages having a good time. Maybe make a donation of £2 or so a bit more strongly encouraged as I think most people would be happy to pay it! Hoping Croxfest can become a regualr fixture after 3 very successful years!
Tom
September 8, 2013 12:41 pmIt was a brilliant day, I really hope it keeps going. It brings a community spirit to our town which is quite rare.
Callum
September 8, 2013 12:23 pmI loved Croxfest, it was a brilliant day and so nice to have something to do with my family! Keep it going!!
jessica
September 8, 2013 12:22 pmReally hope Croxfest continues year after year, Colvex back for next year?
Would have liked to have seen local Cafes, pubs, restaurants, bakers, brewers etc selling food & drink – chance to promote their businesses.
Phil
September 8, 2013 12:15 pmA big thank you to all the organisers and volunteers of Croxfest 2013, once again we had a fabulous day. The day had such an amazing community feel to it. Adults had a wonderful time chatting and Children had a great time playing with each other without the need for rides etc. We look forward to Croxfest 2014.
Rebecca
September 8, 2013 12:12 pmYet another fabulous day at Croxfest. Over 40 of us came and had a fantastic day of entertainment. It gets better every year. Stuart Carter and volunteers, be very proud of yourselves. You did a great job for the community and local talent. Thank you.
Sue
September 8, 2013 12:01 pmFantastic day once again! Great atmostphere and bands. Thank to all who put in so much effort in organising it.
Vicki
September 8, 2013 11:42 amA lovely community event, extremely well run, great for all the family. It is not easy to please everyone with the choice of bands but would suggest the day builds up to the more powerful up-tempo bands as the smaller, quieter acts can get a bit lost after a noisy one e.g. Chasing Grace may have been better on earlier. A 12 noon start is perhaps a little too early for some but know event cannot go on much later than 8pm. Thank you to all organisers and team.
Marion
September 8, 2013 11:35 amWhat a fabulous day, great bands big thanks to all the volunteers and sponsors as without them this wicked event wouldn’t happen bring on croxfest 2014

September 8, 2013 11:31 amThird year running and getting better every year. Well done to Big Stu and all the organisers and helpers as it cant go on without you. The bands were great all day and the finale was big, loud and brilliant. Rock and Roll on next year.
Nikki & Tony
September 8, 2013 11:15 amSuperb community event – brilliantly organised (again), and great to see so many families up on the green making a day of it. I agree with some of the other comments about their not being enough for the kids to do, could be worth approaching some of the local schools to see if their PTA’s would set up some stalls. Could maybe have some family friendly stand ups/entertainers between bands too.
That aside, it was a brilliant event, and I look forward to Croxfest 2014!
Nick
September 8, 2013 11:08 amAnother great day of music and being with friends and family.x
Mandy Blande
September 8, 2013 11:02 amAbsolutely loved the day out, great music, great atmosphere – even the weather held up! Looking forwards to next year’s
Topher
September 8, 2013 10:59 amOnce again a fantastic fun day out for the family. We really loved it, thank you so much. Its great that the bouncy castle is free for the little ones, and the food stalls are good, varied and lovely that gluten free options are available. I would suggest a few more stalls next year please and more advertising before the event! I only knew about it because I joined the facebook page a year ago!! Well done everyone, keep the good work going!
Lexi
September 8, 2013 10:58 amGreat family day out. The atmosphere was fantastic with a lot of people enjoying themselves. A big thank you to all the volunteers who run it. Long may it continue.
Lucy
September 8, 2013 10:56 amI really enjoyed my time at Croxfest and thought the bands were great. If I could make a request for next year it would be that there are more activities for young teens. Maybe more stalls. Great job and look forward to next year.
Kim
September 8, 2013 10:49 amYet again a good day out – decent band and a good family atmosphere, for free.
My only comment for improvement would be to play music through the P.A. between bands to keep the music going as it’s a bit stop/start without it.
Otherwise, well done and look forward to next year.
Justin
September 8, 2013 10:39 amAnother fantastic croxfest, the music was great and it had a great family atmosphere. Fingers crossed for croxfest 2014. Next year maybe more stuff for kids to do, the 2 bouncy castles had massive queues all day.
Kate
September 8, 2013 10:37 amCongratulations on organising a wonderful event that adds much-needed colour to the life of the community and gives a rare platform to local talent. It is a truly selfless enterprise deserving of support. Here’s to 2014.
James
September 8, 2013 10:35 amCroxfest is a wonderful event and a real highlight for the area each year providing a wonderful showcase for some of the best local talent. Long may it continue!
Gavin
September 8, 2013 10:31 amI think it should go on for longer! Love croxfest! But do think there needs to be music in between bands.
Thank you all for a great day!
laura
September 8, 2013 10:30 amCroxfest 2013-What a great day!!! Great music and fabulous atmosphere. As someone has already mentioned would love to see more community stalls.
A big thank you goes to the folk who make this event happen-you are legends!!
Looking forward to Croxfest 2014

September 8, 2013 10:27 amOne if the many things that makes this an amazing place to live. A great free family, community day! Wow what a difficult choice, should we do it again! Damn right! Congratulations to all the hard working people involved! Thank you all for a great day!
Ellie
September 8, 2013 10:18 amHad another great year at Croxfest! This year we took a picnic and made a day of it and the kids had fun havin their faces painted and goingvon the bouncy castle. Can’t wait till next year so that we can bring more family and friends to the event. Great day out and great community spirit makes you feel very lucky to live in hertfordshire.
Kate
September 8, 2013 10:14 amWe had a lovely day, went to support Honor Sunday which wrere the opening band for Croxfest which was a big day for them. They were encouraged to play there what a big experience for them considering the youngest is 12 the others are 14. We all had an excellent day sun was shining eventually listening to cool music. More free adverts need to be done well done Three Rivers . Also how nice to see so many family’s together which is becoming a thing of the past. Good day had by all thank you

September 8, 2013 10:05 amWe all had a great time regardless of the weather, music was good and great opportunity to really feel part of the community, thanks for all the organisation and effort that goes to putting something like this together

September 8, 2013 10:02 amThe attendance on the green yesterday should speak for itself, great day , well done to all the organisers!
Olly
September 8, 2013 10:01 amThe whole family enjoyed the day at Croxfest. We made new friends and met some old friends. The band’s were brilliant and there was a great atmosphere. All in all a fantastic time.
Fiona
September 8, 2013 9:55 amWhat a great day out. Wasn’t going to come this year because of the weather, that would of been a massive mistake.
Meeting up with friends with good music, a fabulous setting and a awesome atmosphere. Oh yeah and Big Stu.
Roll on 2014, cant wait.
Stephen
September 8, 2013 9:51 amCroxfest is great for young and old alike. The music was excellent, as usual, and the atmosphere was great. If someone is questioning that, they clearly wereren’t there! Thanks to everyone who made it possible.
Lauraine
September 8, 2013 9:48 amBrilliant once again; a joy to look forward to each year as are the Revels. Croxley is a very special place and it would be such a shame if certain people had their way and made it substandard. In all the places I have lived (spanning thousand of miles), I have never seen a more openly welcoming, friendly and thoroughly loved community. Keep up the hard work and looking forward to another brilliant Croxfest 2014!
Cat
September 8, 2013 9:47 amExcellent day again, fantastically well organised, congratulations all involved! My only suggestions to improve next time would be to involve more non rock bands and perhaps there’d be a DJ around willing to donate their time to help keep the energy up in the gap between bands by spinning some tunes…
Jay
September 8, 2013 9:47 amMany thanks , once again , Croxfest team for a fantastic community event , greatly enjoyed by all ages.
Nicola
September 8, 2013 9:47 amI couldn’t make it this year, but judging from the feedback I have heard from my friends it was a huge success. Last year was fab too
Lisa
September 8, 2013 9:47 amWell it was my first ever Croxfest and I wasn’t at all disappointed. It was all very well organised and thought out. People have to realise that this festival is only small and is run by volunteers and a lot was donated so that this could run for the community. There was quite a lot of parking available, but still not enough for the crowds that arrived. I don’t think some people realised how popular it would be, it surprised me. I travelled down from Hitchin, North Herts to the event to see The Odd Eccentric play. Hitchin have over the years run a festival called Rhythms of the World which had humble beginnings like this festival. It got so popular that they had 19,000 visitors per day. The only thing I would request is that they organise a better sound system, because some of the bands had problems, including The Odd Eccentric, Paul Eccentric couldn’t hear anything on stage. Hope that Croxfest continues, I had a wonderful afternoon of music and song. It was wonderful to see young bands getting involved too ie. Honor Sunday who performed impeccably. Thanks to all those who helped to make it happen.

September 8, 2013 9:39 amWell done to the organisers for putting on such a great event, everyone behind the scenes couldn’t have been more helpful in assisting the bands playing and as far as I could see people from the ages of 3 months to 90 years young seemed to love the whole experience!

September 8, 2013 9:28 amA great event and thoroughly enjoyed by many croxley green residents showcasing what a great community and area it is to reside in. Personally I believe that events like this should be funded by TRDC and the residents association rather than out of touch councillors whom seem to have no idea what the people who vote them in want. Stand out bands for me were the young guys at the beginning must have been about only 14 and super talented and Delorean who were fantastic.
Congratulations on another successful event and looking forward to another one in 2014. Which we hope will bebigger I.e 2 days and go on later In the evening.

September 8, 2013 9:04 amFirst vist to fest! Came towards end and watched Spitfires who were brilliant. Great atmosphere! Maybe have a band or 2 next year who play more general music as not everyone likes ska and heavy rock. But it was great! Would love to help out next year!

September 8, 2013 8:27 amSuper day, shattered by the end of it!
So much hard work put in to such a positive event! Well Done to the entire team!
Shame there were not many community stalls as ideal time to target local people eg Homestart, Volunteer service,
A beer tent would be nice too 😉

September 7, 2013 4:21 amGreat day – great atmosphere – such a wonderful event to have in Croxley – only suggestion would be to have a ‘cover band’ as the last up as we were all ready to sing along and dance by then….can’t wait for CROXFEST 2013 !
I look forward to Croxfest every year! Such a great idea to get the community together. Family friendly and for people of all ages. Well done to the team for making it such a HUGE success every time!
